Cancer Care Clinic & Hospital

If you head to the Vasant Sheela Twin Towers, you will find us on the 5th floor. That’s where Cancer Care Clinic & Hospital is located. Being up on the fifth floor gives us a bit of a view of the surrounding area, but mostly we are looking at the other tower. The elevators can be a little slow when everyone is coming for work in the morning. We have a waiting area with some old magazines and a water cooler that makes a loud bubbling sound. People come here with a lot on their minds. We try to keep the paperwork moving so they aren't waiting longer than they have to. The rooms are plain and we keep things clean, but it’s not a luxury hotel. We have nurses and assistants moving around constantly. It’s a serious kind of place because of the work we do. Most of the staff has been here since the clinic opened in this building. We eat our lunches in a small breakroom that barely fits three people at once. It’s just how the layout worked out. We see patients from all walks of life who find their way to the Twin Towers. Sometimes the air conditioning is a bit too cold, so we tell people to bring a light sweater. It’s just one of those things you learn when you work here every day. We just try to keep things running smoothly.
