Site Engineer

Operating out of No 281 in Sakthi Nagar, over in the Kollidam post area of Sirkali. It’s a bit of a different pace here compared to the big cities, but the work of a site engineer is pretty much the same everywhere. You have to be there on the ground to make sure the work is actually happening. I spend my time traveling between different sites in and around Sirkali. My office is just a simple place where I keep my tools and the project files. I’m usually out by 8 am to meet the workers. In a place like Sakthi Nagar, word of mouth is everything, so I just try to do a decent job on every site I manage. I’m not a big company with a lot of secretaries. It’s just me handling the site supervision and making sure the materials are used correctly. Sometimes it’s hard to find good labor, or the supplies get delayed because of the weather, but we manage. I focus on the basics like proper leveling and strong foundations. I don’t like to overcomplicate things with fancy reports. If a wall needs to be built, it should be built right the first time. Being a site engineer is about solving these little daily problems before they become big expensive ones. It’s steady work, and I’ve been doing it long enough to know where the shortcuts usually happen and how to stop them.
