Site Engineer

Site Engineer operates out of 174, Mat Tower on Pattamangala Street in Mayiladuthurai. This is in the Nagai District of Tamil Nadu. Our office is in a well-known spot, but like most engineers, we don't spend a whole lot of time sitting there. We are usually out and about in Mayiladuthurai or the nearby areas checking on various sites. It is a smaller town, so everybody kind of knows everyone else. We don't need fancy brochures to tell people what we do. Our work is visible in the walls and roofs of the buildings we help with. We deal with the practical side of things, like making sure the foundation is deep enough and the materials are what they should be. It involves a lot of walking around in the sun and talking to masons and laborers. We keep things very down to earth. There is no corporate polish here, just some dusty boots and a few pens in our pockets. We started this because we liked being on-site more than being in a classroom or an office. It is honest, hard work and we take it as it comes. Sometimes the schedule slips because of a festival or the monsoon, but we always get back to it. We just focus on getting the building done properly. It is a slow process sometimes, but we stay until it is finished.
