Bhuragaon College

Bhuragaon College is situated out in Morigaon, not too far from Gauhati. It is a fairly simple institution that serves the students in this part of the state. We don't have the huge buildings or the massive libraries you might find in the big cities. Most of our students come from the surrounding villages and they often have to travel a fair distance to get here. The campus is quite open and can get very dusty during the dry season. We have basic classrooms with benches and a few fans that hum along while the professors talk. Life here moves at a slower pace compared to the city. We have our exams and our lectures, and in between, students sit under the trees to chat. The staff is a small group of people who mostly know each other well. We don't have a fancy canteen, just a small place where you can get tea and some snacks. Sometimes we struggle with resources, but we find ways to make things work for the students. It’s an honest place where people come to get a degree and hopefully find a better path for themselves. We don't put on any acts here; what you see is what you get. It’s just a college in a rural area trying to provide an education to whoever walks through the gate. We take it one day at a time.
