Indian Airforce

This is where Chanchal Biswas and the rest of us work out of, in Santinagar. It’s a village post office area in the Nadia district of West Bengal. The pin code is 741502. It’s a quiet place compared to the big cities. We go by the Indian Airforce name, but here in the village, things move at a different pace. We don't have a big glass building. Our setup is much more humble. We focus on the tasks at hand, mostly dealing with community matters and local duties. The air is fresher here, which is nice. We spend a lot of time talking to the local people who come by with questions. It’s not a formal corporate environment at all. We might be wearing uniforms, but we still sit down and have a chat with whoever walks through the door. It’s about being part of the community while doing our job. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to wait it out or work by the light from the windows. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything. We just try to be helpful and keep things organized. The roads around here can be a bit rough after the rain, but we’re used to it. It’s a simple life, and we like the work we do here. It’s honest and straightforward. We take pride in just being here and being available when people need us.
