About Indus Valley Ayurvedic Center – Tourism in Mysuru
Our center is situated out in Lalitradhiripura, which is a bit quieter than the main city centers. It’s a good spot for what we do because you don't have all that constant honking and city noise. We spend a lot of time preparing the oils and keeping the treatment rooms ready for people who come to see us. The building has a bit of an old-fashioned feel to it, which seems to fit the Ayurvedic stuff we do. We grow some of our own herbs in the back, though the monkeys sometimes get into the garden and mess things up. It’s a bit of a struggle keeping the plants safe, but we manage. The staff here mostly lives nearby, so we walk or bike in every day. Inside, it smells like sandalwood and cooked herbs most of the time. It’s not a shiny, modern medical clinic with white walls and bright lights. It’s more relaxed and a bit worn in around the edges. We have wooden tables and simple mats. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just open the windows and keep working with the breeze. People come to us from all over, looking for something different than the usual pills. We just do things the way they’ve been done for a long time. It’s a simple life here at Indus Valley Ayurvedic Center and we like it.
