About Leela Ceramics – Building & Construction Material in Mysore
Leela Ceramics is tucked away at No. 2203/7a on New Santhepet. We are right behind the Rmc Mandi in the Mohalla area. Being near the market means it’s always crowded and there’s a lot of shouting and moving around. It’s a lively spot to be in, that’s for sure. We handle ceramics, which is a bit different than the heavy granite shops around. You have to be careful with these tiles; they crack if you even look at them wrong sometimes. Our shop isn't huge, but we pack a lot into it. We’ve got stacks of boxes everywhere. Sometimes it’s hard to find a place to sit down because there’s a new shipment blocking the way. The walls are lined with different patterns and colors. It’s mostly just me and a couple of others here during the day. We spend time talking to customers who are usually trying to finish up a bathroom or a kitchen. They bring in their measurements on scraps of paper, and we try to help them find enough boxes of the same lot number. It’s a lot of checking and double-checking because mistakes with tiles are a pain to fix later. The tea shop next door keeps us going. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and moving boxes, but we like the neighborhood. It’s got a real feel to it, being behind the Mandi and all the daily bustle of the market life.
