Plus Nabab Brick Field

Plus Nabab Brick Field is situated in the village of Patinda, which is part of the Hazarpur Nabagram post in Kandi. It’s a rural area with plenty of open space and fresh air, though the brick dust can get thick at times. We are located near the police station in Kandi, so it’s easy enough for people to find the general direction. Our operation is centered around the natural cycles of the year. We spend months preparing the clay and then even more time waiting for the sun to do its job. It’s a lot of waiting followed by bursts of very heavy activity. The crew here is like a big family. We eat together and deal with the challenges of the weather together. When a big storm is coming, everyone runs out to cover the unbaked bricks with plastic sheets. It’s a chaotic sight, but we’ve gotten pretty fast at it. We don't have a big corporate structure or anything like that. I usually handle the paperwork on a small table outside when the weather is nice. We get customers from all over the Kandi area, mostly small contractors and people building their own houses. They like that they can come and see the bricks before they buy them. We don't do much in the way of marketing. Our reputation in Patinda and Hazarpur Nabagram is what keeps us going. It’s just a regular brick field doing regular work.
