Mtsa Brick Field

We have been running Mtsa Brick Field in Islampur for quite some time now. Domkol is where we are based out of, and it’s a busy area for building things. The yard is where we spend most of our hours, from early morning until the sun goes down. Making bricks is what we do, and it’s a lot of manual labor. We don’t have a big corporate team, just a few of us making sure the kilns are right and the bricks are coming out solid. It gets very hot near the fires, but that’s part of the trade. People from around the village come by when they are starting a new project. We talk to them, figure out how many they need, and get them loaded up. Sometimes the roads around here get a bit muddy, so getting the trucks in can be a chore. We’ve seen a lot of houses go up using our bricks. It’s a simple business. We don't do much advertising; word of mouth is usually how people find us in the Islampur area. We try to keep things moving even when the parts for the machines break down or the weather doesn't cooperate. It’s just life here. We wake up, head to the field, and get to work. There’s always a pile of clay or finished bricks to look at. We are just a local spot doing what we know how to do. We take pride in just getting it done and seeing the trucks drive off full.
