You can find Amwa Farmers Producer Company Limited in the village of Amwa Majhar. We operate out of Adyananad Bharati’s house, which is where most of our meetings take place. Adyananad is the son of Ramanand Bharti, and his family has been here for a long time. It makes sense for us to be based right where the farming happens. We are a small group of people who decided that we should work together instead of everyone just doing their own thing. It isn't always easy to get everyone to agree on everything, but we try our best. Amwa Majhar is a typical village where everyone knows each other’s business, so we have to be honest and straightforward in everything we do. We don't have a website or a big social media presence. Most of our communication is done face-to-face over a cup of tea. We deal with the seeds, the harvests, and the local markets. Sometimes the roads to the village get bad after a heavy rain, and that slows everything down, but we just wait it out. It’s a practical way to live and work. We aren't looking to become a giant company; we just want to make sure the work we do benefits the folks living right here in Amwa. It’s hard work and the days are long, but there is a sense of satisfaction in seeing the crops come in at the end of the year.
