Our home base is at Room Number 15 in Ekatmata Nagar, Sewri. It is a small room, but it holds a lot of stuff. We have stacks of colorful cloth, metal poles for tents, and strings of lights all piled up in the corners. Most of what we do is setting up for local functions or small weddings in the area. We are the ones you see dragging ladders and heavy bundles of fabric across the street. Sewri is a busy place, and getting our gear to a site can be a bit of a struggle through the narrow lanes. We do not have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to tie the knots and get the draping right. Sometimes the customers are picky about the colors, and we have to dig through the back to find exactly what they want. It is physical work, and our backs often ache by the end of a long day of lifting. We do not use any fancy design software. We just listen to what the family wants and try to make the space look decent with what we have on hand. Most people in Ekatmata Nagar know where to find us if they have a celebration coming up. We have been doing this for years, so we know which poles go where without even thinking about it. It is not always pretty behind the scenes, but we get the job done for the neighborhood families.
