Wasim Newrekar

Mumbai is a loud place, especially around the 400003 area where Wasim Newrekar is based. If you know this part of the city, you know it is always moving, day and night. My day usually starts early because the traffic in Maharashtra is no joke if you are trying to get anywhere by noon. The workspace here is simple. We do not have those big leather chairs or a receptionist greeting people at the door. It is just a place where we sit down and handle the daily tasks that come our way. People often drop by just to ask questions or check on things we talked about the day before. It gets a bit cramped sometimes when there are too many files on the desk, but we manage. I have lived and worked in Mumbai for a long time, so I am used to the noise and the way things move here. It isn't always smooth sailing. Sometimes the internet goes out or the power flickers, and you just have to wait it out. Most of the people I talk to are locals or people who have been sent over by friends. We do not really do ads or anything like that. We just do the work, keep the records straight, and try to finish everything before the sun goes down. It is a very basic setup in a very busy part of town. You can hear the taxis honking outside while we are trying to focus. That is just life in Mumbai for us.
