Pooja Masala

Pooja Masala is located at Gp 1 in Tagor Nagar. We’re pretty easy to find if you look for the Shivaji Putla. We are right across from the Visava Wine Shop in Tagore Nagar-Vikhroli East. The smell of spices is usually what gives us away before you even see the door. We spend our days grinding and mixing different blends. It’s a dusty job, and we usually go home smelling like chili and turmeric. The shop isn't very big. We have the counters and the bags of raw spices stacked up in the back. It’s a local spot. People from the neighborhood stop by to get what they need for their kitchens. We don't have a fancy website or a big advertising budget. Word of mouth is how most people find us. Vikhroli East is a busy area, especially near the statue. There’s always someone stopping by for a chat while they wait for their order. We’ve been here at Gp 1 for quite a while now. The building is simple, and we like it that way. We don't use any complicated machines, just the old ones that have been working for years. It’s hard work, but it keeps us busy. We like being part of the community here. It feels like home to us. When the afternoon sun hits the front of the shop, we usually pull the shutter down halfway to keep the heat out while we finish the day's grinding. It’s just how we do things every day without much fuss.
