Spice Tree

Spice Tree is located at Fernandez Villa, number 95, right on Hill Road in Bandra West. If you’ve ever walked down Hill Road, you know how packed it gets with shoppers and traffic. Our place is part of that old villa structure, which gives it a bit of a different feel compared to the newer glass buildings popping up everywhere in Mumbai. We don't have a big neon sign or anything too flashy. It’s just the name on the front. Running a place in Bandra is always a bit of a challenge because everything moves so fast. One minute the street is empty and the next there’s a crowd outside. We spend a lot of our time managing the small kitchen space and making sure the ingredients we get from the local markets are fresh. The floors are a bit worn from all the walking, and the chairs have seen better days, but they are comfortable enough. We don't really bother with fancy plating or anything. We just put the food on the plate and send it out. Most of our regulars are people who work in the shops nearby or live in the lanes behind Hill Road. They know what to expect when they come in. It gets pretty loud during the lunch hour, with the sound of the street mixing with the clinking of spoons. We just try to keep things moving and make sure nobody waits too long.
