Vels Srinivasa College

Vels Srinivasa College is located right in the middle of Dharavi, Mumbai. We are in the Transit Camp area, specifically Block-12, Room-4, Row-M. It’s a very specific address because Dharavi is a complicated place to navigate if you don’t live here. The pin code is 400017. We don’t have a massive campus with green fields. Instead, we work out of these rooms in the transit camp. It is a busy, lively area where everyone is doing something. It’s very practical. We focus on what needs to be done every day. Space is tight, but we make it work. It’s just part of being in Mumbai. People come in and out of Row-M all day long. We have been here for a while and have become part of the local scenery. You won’t find any marble floors or air-conditioned lobbies here. It is just a simple place for learning and getting things sorted. We are easy to talk to and we don't use big, fancy words. If you are looking for Block-12, just ask someone near the camp; they usually know. We take pride in just being here and doing our bit in such a famous part of the city. It’s not always quiet, but it’s definitely real. We deal with the daily challenges as they come. That’s just life at Vels Srinivasa College in the heart of the camp. We just keep going.
