Our workplace is in the Parekh Market Premises, specifically unit 326 at 39 Kennedy Bridge. This is right in the middle of the Opera House area, which is the heart of the diamond and jewellery trade in the city. Because of that, the whole area is always packed with people, and security is pretty tight everywhere you go. Our office for Veeline Jewels And Watches Pvt. Ltd. is on the third floor, and the building is usually very busy with people running errands between different shops and offices. Inside, we have several workbenches where we look at watches and jewellery. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing on very small things, so we have good lamps at every desk. The space isn't very large, so we have to be careful not to trip over each other when we are moving around. We have a small pantry where we make tea, but mostly we just order it from the guy downstairs who brings it up in those little glasses. The bridge outside always has a lot of traffic, and you can hear the cars honking all day. It’s a very urban environment, and there isn't much green space around here. We spend our days checking quality and managing the stock we have. It’s the kind of job where you have to be very patient and have a steady hand. We aren't doing anything flashy; we’re just another small team working in a big, busy building.
