We are tucked away on the first floor of the Zenco Compound in Malad West, right near Chincholi Bunder. It’s an industrial sort of area, so you’ll see a lot of small units and workshops around us. Our space is where we do our work, mostly focused on clothing or textiles, depending on what the current projects are. It’s a big room with high ceilings and a lot of light coming in when the weather is good. We have tables for cutting and machines for sewing. It’s not a retail shop where you can just browse around; it’s more of a workspace where things actually get made. Sometimes it’s a bit messy with scraps of fabric on the floor and threads everywhere, but that’s part of the daily process. We have a small team of people who know their way around a sewing machine. We don’t have a fancy entrance, you just come up the stairs and find us. The noise of the machines is pretty constant throughout the day. We aren't looking to be some big fashion house, we just like making things and getting the orders out to the people who need them. It's hard work and the days are long, but we've been doing it here in Malad for quite some time now and it feels like home. When the tea break happens, we all sit together for a bit before getting back to the machines. It's a busy, noisy, but good place to work.
