Valson Dyeing Bl. & Ptg. Works

Valson Dyeing Bl. & Ptg. Works is located on L. B. S. Marg in Bhandup West. We are right opposite the Union Bank. It is a very busy spot. The traffic on L. B. S. Marg never seems to stop, and there is always the sound of horns and engines. Being across from the bank is helpful because everyone knows where that is. Our facility is where we do all the dyeing and printing. It’s a wet and messy job, so the floors are usually a bit damp. We have big vats and the smell of the dyes is quite strong throughout the day. You get used to it after a while, though. The building is older, with high ceilings and some stains on the walls from years of work. We’ve been here in Bhandup for a long time. The workers are mostly local people who have been with us for ages. We start early to beat the worst of the Mumbai heat. By midday, it gets pretty stuffy inside. We take our breaks on the sidewalk or in the small space by the entrance. It’s not a glamorous business, but it’s an important one. We handle a lot of cloth every week. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend half the morning fixing them. That’s just how it goes here. We keep things moving as best as we can. It's a lot of physical labor but we are used to it by now. We finish up when the work is done for the day.
