Our shop is at 16 Pankaj A on L.B.S Marg, right across from Indradeep Society in Ghatkopar West. It is a crowded part of Mumbai, and there is always noise from the street outside, but we are used to it by now. We do engineering work here, mostly focused on parts and mechanical stuff that people need for their own businesses. The space inside is filled with lathes and various machines that have been with us for a long time. It’s not a quiet place, especially when we have a few jobs going at once. We spend most of our time measuring things and making sure the metal is cut the way it needs to be. Sometimes the commute on LBS Marg is a real headache for the guys, but we show up and get the machines running anyway. We aren't a big corporation with lots of layers; you just talk to whoever is available at the desk or on the shop floor. We handle a lot of different requests, some small and some that take a few weeks to finish up. We don't spend much time on paperwork if we can help it because the real work happens at the back. It’s a bit dusty and there is usually some oil on the floor, but that is a machine shop for you. We’ve been in Ghatkopar for a good stretch of time and know the local rhythm well. Most of us live nearby and walk to work.
