Umeshpujari

Down here in Hariyali Village, things move at their own pace. We are located at 10/10 Sonawane Chawl on Ganesh Marg. It’s a tight space in Vikhroli East, but it works for what we do. Umeshpujari is basically me and a few hands helping out when things get busy. Most mornings start with tea from the stall nearby before we get into the actual work. The chawl is always lively, with kids playing and people going to the station. It can be a bit loud, but you get used to it. Sometimes the mail gets mixed up because the numbering is old, but everyone knows everyone here, so it finds its way. We don't have a big sign or a glass front. It’s just a door and a workspace. I’ve been doing this for a few years now. It’s not a glamorous job, but it pays the bills and keeps us occupied. Vikhroli has changed a lot, with new buildings coming up, but our corner feels pretty much the same as it always did. We handle things as they come. Sometimes there’s a lot of work, sometimes it’s quiet. We don’t really plan too far ahead. We just make sure whatever we promised gets finished by the end of the day. If you come by, just ask for the Sonawane Chawl area. Most people can point you in the right direction. It's just a local spot for local work.
