Umesh Renukuntla

Living and working out of Tilaknagar in Mumbai is an experience. Our spot is in Gangotri App, specifically Flat 804 in Building Number 73. If you know Chembur, you know it’s a bit of a maze with all the numbered buildings, but we’ve been here long enough that it feels like home. This is where Umesh Renukuntla operates from. It’s a typical residential building, so you’ve got families all around and the smell of cooking in the hallways around lunchtime. We aren't some big corporation with a glass building. We just have our desks pushed up against the walls in the living room and some files stacked in the corner. The view from the eighth floor is okay, you can see some of the other buildings and a bit of the sky when it’s not too smoggy. Getting up here sometimes takes a bit of a wait because the lift can be slow, especially when the kids are coming home from school. We started doing things here because it was easier than renting a separate office in a crowded market. It’s just more practical this way. We spend most of our hours here, typing away and answering calls. It’s a bit cramped when we have a lot of work, but we make it work. It's just a regular life in a busy part of Mumbai, keeping things moving one day at a time. We don't ask for much else from the day.
