Uday Plast Industries

Our place, Uday Plast Industries, is at Chandra Villa on 8th Road. We are quite close to V.N. Desai Hospital in Santacruz East. It is a residential area mostly, so it is a bit different from a big industrial park. The building, Chandra Villa, has been here a long time. We use part of it for our plastic work. It is a family-run thing. My father started it and now we just keep it going as best as we can. It is not a huge operation. We have a few machines tucked away and a small area for packing the finished pieces. The neighbors are mostly families, so we try not to make too much noise early in the morning or late at night. The traffic in Santacruz can be a nightmare, so we try to get our deliveries out early before it gets too bad. We do not have a big corporate mission or anything like that. We just make plastic parts that people need for their businesses. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend the whole day fixing them. It is just part of the job. We have a small desk where we handle the bills and phone calls. It is often covered in dust from the production side of the room. We are not polished business people.
