Uday Creations

You can find us at Room No 201 in Janabai Chawl, which is located in the Mor area behind the Mahim Bus Depot. It is a bit of a walk from the main road, but most people in Mahim know where the depot is. We have been in this room for quite some time, doing our creation work. It is a simple setup with just enough space for our machines and the materials we use. Being behind the bus depot means we hear the buses coming and going all day long. It provides a bit of a rhythm to our work. We aren't a big factory or a high-end boutique. It is just a small-scale place where we put things together. The chawl environment is very social, so neighbors often pop their heads in to say hello while we are working. We keep our hours pretty steady, starting early and finishing up when the light gets low. Sometimes we stay late if there is a lot to do before a deadline. We don't really have a sales team or anything like that. If you want to talk to us, you just come to the door and ask for whoever is around. We handle the cloth and the designs as best as we can with the tools we have. It is honest work and it keeps us going. Mahim is our home and this shop is how we contribute to the area.
