If you find yourself on Tribhuvan Road in Mumbai, you’ll see Vijay Chambers. We are up on the second floor in unit D-2. It’s one of those classic city buildings where the stairs are a bit narrow and there is always something going on in the hallways. Our space is pretty packed with inventory most of the time. We handle a lot of different parts and it seems like we’re always moving boxes from one side of the room to the other just to find a bit of desk space. The noise from the street below never really stops, but after a while, you just stop noticing the horns and the shouting. We aren't big on decorations here. The walls are mostly covered with shelves and some old calendars. It’s a functional place where we spend our hours looking at orders and checking stock. Sometimes the lift acts up, so we end up taking the stairs, which is fine unless we’re carrying heavy gear. We have a small staff and everyone knows their job. It’s not a shiny corporate office with glass walls, just a regular Mumbai workspace where we try to stay organized despite the chaos of the busy market area outside. Lunch is usually eaten at the desks while we chat about whatever happened on the way to work. It’s just our daily life here in this old building.
