Trance Jewellery

Trance Jewellery is located on the fourth floor of Krishna Niwas. We are on Raja Ram Mohan Roy Road, very close to the Charni Road Station on the east side. Being near the station means we can always hear the trains passing by and the announcements from the platform. It’s a very Mumbai feeling. To get to us, you have to come through the main entrance of the building and head up to the fourth floor. It’s an old building, but it has a lot of character. Our workspace is where we spend most of our waking hours, surrounded by tools and small pieces of metal. We don't have a big team or a corporate structure. It’s just a few of us who know how to handle the materials. We work mostly on orders that come in through word of mouth. People find out about us from their friends or relatives and then they make the trip to Charni Road to see what we are doing. The space is small and filled with the sound of filing and small hammers hitting metal. We keep a window open for some air, even though the city noise comes in with it. It’s a honest way to make a living. We don't do anything fancy with our presentation; we just put the jewelry on a velvet cloth and let the work speak for itself.
