Tohfa The Gift Shop

Tohfa The Gift Shop is our little place at Shop No 10 and 11 in the Kunj Vihar Building. We are right on Station Road in Vile Parle West. It gets pretty crowded here because Khokha Market is just next door. People usually stop in when they are on their way to the train station or just finished their vegetable shopping. We started this shop a while ago and it’s filled with all sorts of things like birthday cards, small toys, and some decorative items for the house. We spend a lot of time dusting the shelves and rearranging the glass pieces so they don't break. The fan in the corner makes a bit of noise but it keeps the place cool when the afternoon sun hits the front door. We don't have anything too fancy, just the regular stuff people look for when they forget a birthday or want to get a small return gift for a kid’s party. Sometimes the rain comes in through the front if we don't pull the shutter down fast enough. Most of our neighbors know us by name now. We keep the shop open until late evening because that is when most workers are heading back home from the station. It’s a busy spot but we like seeing the familiar faces every day. There is always someone asking for a specific color of wrapping paper we just ran out of.
