Surya Web Solutions is based in Malad West, right in the Deepanjali Cooperative Housing Society at 33/C. Working out of a residential society gives our office a bit of a different feel compared to a standard commercial building. It’s quieter, and you see the same neighbors every day going about their lives. Our space is basically a converted flat where we’ve set up our workstations and servers. It’s a bit tight when we’re all in at the same time, but we make it work. We spend most of our time building websites and fixing back-end issues. It’s not glamorous, and there’s usually a lot of trial and error involved. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. If the doorbell rings, whoever is closest to the door gets up to answer it. We like it this way because it’s simple and low-stress. We’ve been in Malad for a good few years now, and we’ve seen the area get busier and busier. Living and working in the same general area means we don’t have to deal with the worst of the Mumbai commute, which is a big plus. We’re just a handful of people who know how to build stuff for the internet. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just sit down, open our laptops, and get to work until the day is done. It’s a decent life and a decent way to earn a living.
