Star Tyres

You can find Star Tyres at Shop No 11 in the Devi Dayal Compound over in Bhandup West. It is a bit of a rough and ready place as you might expect from a tyre shop. We are located near the Crawford Market area and right opposite the State Bank of India branch. There are stacks of tyres piled up almost to the ceiling in some parts of the shop and the smell of rubber is everywhere. It is a dusty job and our hands are usually black with grime by the end of the morning. We do not have a fancy showroom with air conditioning. We just have the shop floor and the tools we need to get the wheels back on the cars. Sometimes it gets very crowded with vehicles waiting outside in the compound and we have to shout to be heard over the noise of the traffic and the air compressors. The shop has been here for a while and the neighbors know us well. We get our tea from the same guy every day and we sit on old crates when we take a break. It is hard work and the sun can be brutal in the afternoons when we are working outside the shop. We do not do much in the way of advertising because the location opposite the bank brings in enough people who have issues with their vehicles. It is just a straightforward tyre shop.
