Spokotronic

We are located at Shop No C/1 in Gana Sidhivinayak, which is right in the Mahim Ramdev Nagar area. Most people find us by looking for the Goa Portuguese Hotel since it’s such a well-known landmark around here. Spokotronic is a bit of a weird name, I guess, but it fits what we do with electronics. The shop itself is small and packed with all kinds of components and half-finished projects. It’s the kind of place where you have to watch your step so you don’t trip over a power cord. We spend a lot of time with soldering irons in hand, trying to get circuits to behave. The traffic outside in Mahim can be pretty intense, especially in the evenings, but once you’re inside the shop, it’s all about the work on the bench. We aren’t really into the whole big business vibe. We’re just local people who happen to know a lot about how these gadgets and boards work together. Sometimes a repair is easy, and sometimes it takes us half the day just to find where the short is. That’s just the nature of electronics. We get a lot of locals dropping in just to ask a quick question or see if we have a specific part in a drawer somewhere. We don’t mind. It’s part of being in the neighborhood. We just keep the lights on and keep working through the pile of repairs. It’s a messy job sometimes, but it’s interesting enough to keep us going.
