Somaiya College

Somaiya College has been a fixture in the Ghatkopar area of Mumbai for quite some time. Being in such a crowded part of the city, there is always a lot of energy around the place. Students are constantly coming and going, catching trains or walking from the nearby residential buildings. We have several different departments here, and the hallways are usually packed with young people heading to their next lecture. The campus has its own rhythm, starting early in the morning and staying busy until late in the evening. It’s not a perfectly quiet environment because of the Mumbai traffic and the sheer number of people, but that is just part of being here. Our classrooms are basic and functional, and the library is a popular spot for those who actually want to get some studying done away from the noise. We have a lot of administrative work to keep up with, from sorting out timetables to managing the canteen. The faculty members have their own ways of doing things, and some have been here since before the neighborhood changed so much. It is a big place, but it still feels like a local institution where many families in Ghatkopar have sent their children over the years. We just keep things running as best as we can in the middle of all the city bustle.
