Our office is way up on the eighth floor of the Flyedge building on S.V. Road. If you know Borivali West, you know how loud that area gets with the traffic near the East West Flyover. Down on the street, it’s all honking and people rushing, but once the elevator gets you up to the 807 unit, it’s a bit quieter, though you can still hear the city hum. We do engineering and trading work, which involves a lot of technical drawings and even more phone calls to suppliers. The view from the window is mostly just more buildings and the tops of cars moving across the flyover. We’ve got a couple of desks crowded with catalogues and metal samples that have been sitting there for months. It gets dusty pretty fast being so close to the main road, so we’re always wiping down the monitors. Lunch usually involves someone going down to grab vada pav or bringing a tiffin from home. We aren't a massive corporation with fancy slogans; we’re just a group of people who know their way around machinery and parts. We spend a lot of time looking at spreadsheets and making sure the orders are shipped to the right places. It’s a lot of routine, but we like the rhythm of it. Sometimes the lift takes forever, but that’s just how it is in these tall buildings. We stay until the work is finished.
