Sky Mobile Service Centre

Working at Sky Mobile Service Centre on Manikkar Marg Kika Street is always interesting because of the crowd. This part of town is never quiet. We spend most of our time looking at small parts and screens that people have cracked. It’s honest work, even if it gets a bit tiring for the eyes after a few hours. We get all kinds of people coming in, some are in a big hurry and others want to chat while we check their devices. The shop isn't very large, so it can get a bit cramped when three or four people are waiting at the same time. We have our tools laid out on the back bench and there’s usually a radio playing somewhere nearby. Kika Street has a lot of energy, and we feel like a part of that. We don't do big advertisements or anything. Most people find us because they live nearby or a friend told them we were here. We just try to be fair with what we charge and tell people the truth about whether their phone can actually be fixed or if it's a lost cause. Sometimes parts are hard to find, so we have to tell people to wait a couple of days. We just do our best with what we have and go home when the sun sets. It’s a simple life here.
