Down here in Vadgadi, things are always moving fast. We are located at No. 13/A in X Lane, right in the heart of Chakla. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets with all the handcarts and people moving goods. Being near the Hanuman Temple is actually a good landmark because otherwise, people would never find this little lane in the middle of everything. Shimnit Trading Co. has been part of this chaos for a long while now. The office is small and filled with the smell of the market outside, which is mostly dust and old buildings, but it feels like home to us. We deal with trading all sorts of things throughout the day. There is constantly someone coming in with a delivery or someone wanting to check on an order. It’s a lot of manual work, writing things down in ledgers and making sure the counts are right. We don't have fancy air conditioning that works all the time, so we just keep the door open and let the street noise in. You hear the temple bells and the shouting of the loaders all day long. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, face to face and mostly based on trust and handshakes. We’ve been in this spot so long we know every crack in the pavement. It's definitely not one of those polished corporate lives you see in magazines, but it's real and it's what we know best.
