She Creation

You can find She Creation over in Bhuleshwar, specifically at Shop No. 73 on the first floor of the Swaminarayan Building. This part of Mumbai is always crowded and loud. It is located in 3rd Bhoiwada, which is a maze of streets if you aren't familiar with it. The building itself is busy with lots of other small shops and people moving goods around. We have been in this spot for some time now. Getting up to the first floor takes a minute when the stairs are crowded with deliveries. The shop isn't very big, but we make use of every inch of space we have. Outside, you can hear the constant sound of horns and people shouting. It’s just the atmosphere of Bhuleshwar. We don't have any air conditioning that works great, so it gets very warm in the summer months. Most of the other shopkeepers around here have become friends over the years. We share tea and talk about the day’s trade. It’s a very traditional way of working. There are no elevators here, just the old stone steps. It feels honest to be working in a place like this. Everything is packed in tight, from the fabrics to the desks. It’s a productive mess most of the time. We just keep our heads down and do what needs to be done. The fans hum all day but they don't do much against the Mumbai heat.
