You can find our building right at Mahavir Education Trust Chowk. We sit on W. T. Patil Marg, and most people just use the Dukes Company nearby as a landmark to find their way here. Shah And Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College is a long name, so most of us just call it SAKEC for short. The building is solid and has been around for a long time now. Chembur is such a busy area that there is almost always a line of traffic right outside our main gates. Inside, the labs are usually packed with students working on their various projects. We have a lot of equipment that we try to keep in good working order. It is not some shiny new glass tower, but the place definitely has its own character. The hallways are quite long and can be a bit confusing if you are visiting for the first time. We spend much of our day just coordinating between the different departments. Sometimes the lifts are slow, so you will see many of us taking the stairs instead. It's a bit of a workout. We see many familiar local faces because a lot of our students come from the surrounding suburbs. It feels like a small community once you have been here for a few months. We don't put on any fancy airs about being the best. We just focus on getting the teaching done and making sure the exams happen when they should. It is a lot of routine.
