Our place is spread out across Garage No 13, 16, and 18 over on Nasarwanji Grant Road, which is part of the Old Madras Road area in Medahalli. We are situated right behind the Novelty Cinema, which is a landmark most people around here know well. Working in a garage means your hands are almost always dirty and there’s always the smell of grease and petrol hanging in the air. We’ve got our tools and our spare parts spread out across the different units because one shop just wasn't enough space for everything. It can get pretty chaotic when we have several vehicles in at once, but we have a system that works for us. The Grant Road area is always noisy, and being near the cinema means there’s a lot of people around, especially in the evenings when shows are letting out. We’ve been fixing cars and bikes here for years, and we’ve seen all kinds of mechanical problems come through our doors. Some days we are just doing simple oil changes or fixing a flat, and other days we’re tearing down an entire engine. We don't have a fancy waiting room with air conditioning, usually, customers just stand around and talk to us while we work. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot outside, but we like the mechanical side of things. We’re just local mechanics trying to do right by the folks who drive around Medahalli. It isn't glamorous work, but it’s honest.
