Raju Shockup Repairing Works

So this is Shop No 1 at Omprakash Niwas in Ghatkopar West. We are near the Guru Nanak Nirankari Colony, right by the Pooja Hotel. If you come by, you’ll probably see me or one of the guys covered in a bit of oil. Raju Shockup Repairing Works is exactly what it sounds like. We spend all day taking apart shocks and putting them back together. The shop is small and filled with tools and old parts. It’s on the ground floor, so it’s easy to pull a bike or a car right up to the front. The area around Asa is usually busy with people going to the hotel or the colony nearby. It gets pretty loud with the sound of hammers and air compressors. We don’t have an AC or anything, just a big pedestal fan that blows the dust around. It’s hard work on the hands, but it’s what we know how to do. We've been fixing suspension systems for people in Ghatkopar for a long time. There’s always a pile of old shock absorbers in the corner waiting to be scrapped or salvaged for parts. We keep a small radio playing in the background to pass the time. It’s a dirty job, and our clothes always have stains, but we take pride in getting the bounce back into someone’s ride. Just look for the sign near Pooja Hotel if you need us. We are here most days until late evening.
