Ancent Paints

Our shop, Ancent Paints, is located at 6- A in Shantinagar, over in Santacruz East. It’s a small place but we manage to fit a lot of paint cans on the shelves. We’ve been here for a long time, and the neighborhood has changed quite a bit around us with new buildings going up. Mostly we just sell paint and supplies to people living nearby or local contractors who are doing some work in the area. The walls of the shop have a lot of old paint splashes on them from testing colors, and it always smells a bit like thinner and fresh coatings. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. Sometimes people come in not knowing what color they want, and we just show them the charts until they find something they like for their living room or kitchen. It’s a simple business. We spend a lot of time mixing colors and moving heavy cans around. Santacruz East is a busy area, so there’s always someone popping in for a brush or a bucket of white. We don't do any big advertising or anything fancy like that. We just open up in the morning, sweep the front, and wait for the customers to come by. It's a bit cramped inside with all the stock, but we know where every single can is. We just try to be helpful and get people what they need for their houses. It is a steady way to live.
