Sanjay V Vishwakarma

I work out of the Bar Room Library on the first floor of the Esplanade Court. It’s right near Victoria Terminus, in the Maruti Nagar area. It is a very busy and crowded place to be every day. The court building is old and full of history, but it’s also very noisy with lawyers, clerks, and people waiting for their cases. My desk is usually covered in folders, law books, and loose papers. It’s not the kind of private office you see in movies. We share the space with many other advocates, so there is always a lot of chatter and the sound of people rushing around. I spend most of my time researching in the library or heading down to the courtrooms when a matter is called. It’s a lot of waiting and then a lot of quick work. I’ve been practicing here for years, so I’ve grown used to the chaos of the legal system. It is a tough environment, and you have to be practical to get anything done. I don't use any marketing. My work is just about helping people navigate the legal rules. Sometimes the fans in the library don't work, and it gets quite stuffy with all those people and old books. But this is where the work happens. It’s a real, messy, and very busy life at the Esplanade Court, and I’m just one part of it.
