Down in Laxmi Nagar No 2, specifically in the Bangur Nagar area of Goregaon West, you’ll find our workshop. We are right near the Laxmi Industrial Estate, which is a busy place full of trucks and loud machines. Our floors are usually covered in oil and metal shavings. That's just how it is with mechanical work. Sanjay started this place because he liked fixing things, and we’ve been doing it ever since. We deal with all sorts of engines and parts that have stopped working. It’s noisy and greasy, and our clothes never really stay clean for long. People bring us things that are broken and we take them apart to see what’s wrong inside. Sometimes it’s a quick fix and other times we have to wait for a part to arrive. The industrial estate next door means there is always something happening. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room with magazines. People just stand around the shop floor and talk to us while we work. It’s a practical environment. We use heavy tools and spend a lot of time on our knees or leaning over a workbench. It’s how we make a living in Goregaon. We know the machines and we know the neighborhood. It isn't a polished corporate office, just a real shop where we get our hands dirty every single day to get things running again.
