The building itself has that classic Mumbai feel, with high ceilings and heavy doors that have been painted over dozens of times. It’s a sturdy old place, though the stairs can be a bit of a climb if you’re not used to them. We work in a room that is packed with shelves and old files. It’s not a modern glass office by any means. There’s a certain smell of old paper and dust that you only get in these types of buildings. Most days, we are just here handling the daily tasks and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. The traffic outside on the main road is constant, and you can always hear the city hum through the windows. We have a small kitchenette where we make tea, and that’s usually where the best conversations happen. We don’t use any fancy software to track our time or anything like that; we just know what needs to be done and we do it. It’s a bit of a maze getting to our floor, but once you’re here, it’s a comfortable enough spot. We’ve been here a long time and the walls feel familiar. It’s just a simple, hard-working environment without any unnecessary polish. We have a slow ceiling fan that wobbles a bit, but it does the job just fine.
