San Kruti

If you know Kalbadevi Road, you know how busy it gets every single day. Our place, San Kruti, is right in the middle of all that noise and energy at Soni Bhavan. We are at 47/51, specifically in 2A. Finding us can be a bit of a challenge if you aren't used to the narrow lanes around Pydhunie, but we like being where the action is. Inside, it is usually filled with rolls of fabric or whatever items we are sorting through that week. It is a tight space, but it works for what we need. We do not have much room for big displays, so things are often stacked up high against the walls. The building itself is old and has that specific smell of wood and dust that you find in these parts of town. We spend a lot of time talking to vendors and people walking by who just pop their heads in to say hello. Usually, someone is making tea or checking a list on a piece of paper. It isn’t the quietest place to work, especially with the horns honking outside constantly. We start early and stay until the shutters go down late in the evening. It is just how things are done here in this part of the city. We handle the stock, talk to the regulars, and keep the shop running as best as we can. It is a simple, busy life.
