S Prakash & Bros is tucked away in Century Bazar Lane, right in the Prabhadevi area of Worli. It’s a part of Mumbai that never really seems to slow down, and our shop is right in the middle of that hustle. We’ve been running things here as a family for many years, following the same basic principles of hard work that the brothers started with. The lane can be a bit tight, especially when we’re trying to move goods in or out, but we make it work somehow. Inside, it’s a mix of a workspace and a storage area where we keep all our supplies. We don’t have a fancy reception desk or anything like that; you usually just walk in and find one of us working on an order. We handle a variety of items, mostly focusing on what the local market needs day-to-day. The humidity in Worli can be tough, especially in the monsoon, but we keep the shutters open and just get on with it. We’ve known our neighbors for decades, and that’s how we like to operate—on a first-name basis with everyone. We don't bother with expensive advertising or trying to look bigger than we are. We just show up every morning, open the shop, and see what needs to be done. It’s a simple life and a simple business, keeping things moving one day at a time.
