Ruchoks

I run things from apartment A/904 in Building Number 9 of the Cosmopol complex in Powai. It’s not a shop on the street like most places, but a home-based setup. Ruchoks is what I call my business. Working from the ninth floor gives me a pretty good view of the other buildings, but mostly I’m just focused on what’s on the table in front of me. The kitchen is where most of the work happens. It gets a bit crowded when I have a lot of orders to finish. The security guards at the gate of Cosmopol know the delivery guys who come to pick up the packages. Sometimes the elevator takes forever, which can be frustrating when I'm in a rush. I started this because I wanted to do something on my own. It's just me and sometimes a friend who comes over to help with the packing. We use a lot of boxes and ribbons. My living room often looks like a warehouse with all the supplies stacked up against the wall. It’s a bit messy, but it’s how I work. Powai is a nice area, very modern compared to other parts of Mumbai, but inside the apartment, it's just regular work. I don't have any big signs or advertisements. People mostly find out about me through word of mouth or by seeing the labels on the boxes. I hope to keep it going this way.
