Our office is in room 104 at Dharam Palace, right there on Hughes Road near the Opera House area. If you know Mumbai, you know how hectic this part of the city gets. We deal with imports and exports, so there is always a lot of paperwork piled up on the desks. Usually, the phone doesn't stop ringing until late in the afternoon. It’s a bit cramped in here with all the ledgers and samples we keep around, but we managed to make it work over the years. We’ve got a small team and we’ve all been together long enough that we don’t need to say much to know what needs doing. The building itself is quite old, and sometimes the elevator acts up, so we end up taking the stairs. It’s good exercise, I guess. We aren’t trying to be anything we aren't; we just focus on getting the shipments out and making sure the numbers match up at the end of the month. The chai from the shop downstairs is what keeps us going on the particularly long days. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the window when it's monsoon season, but we just put a bucket there and keep on working. It’s just how things go in a busy trading hub like this one. We value the relationships we’ve built with the local transporters more than anything else.
