Reliance Plast

Goregaon East is where we spend most of our time. Our workshop is in Gala No. 2 at Rohidas Nagar. It's tucked away in Coma Estate. If you know the area, you know it's mostly small units like ours. We work with plastics. Most days it’s just the sound of the machines and someone making tea in the corner. The plot number is 14/A, which can be a bit hard to find if the delivery drivers aren't local. We’ve been here a while now. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint but we are usually too busy with the orders to worry about that. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially when the machines have been running since 9 am. We usually keep the big shutter half-open to let some air in from the estate lane. Sometimes the electricity acts up, but that’s just how things are in this part of town. We just get on with it. There’s always a lot of scrap around that needs clearing. Most of the guys here live nearby, so we walk or take a rickshaw. It’s not fancy, just a place where we make things and try to keep up with the schedule. People drop by sometimes looking for work or just to chat. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily production. It’s a lot of manual work and checking the molds. That’s pretty much the whole story of Reliance Plast.
