Shivsagar Estate is quite a landmark on Dr. A.B. Road in Worli. Our spot is on the 8th Floor in A Block, which is part of the BDK Group of Companies premises. Being in Worli means the traffic is always a major topic of conversation whenever someone walks into the room. You can hear the constant, dull hum of cars and buses from Dr. A.B. Road even all the way up here on the eighth floor. The office layout is a bit of a maze, but once you find Raw Canvas Llp, it’s just a normal, everyday working space. We have large windows, but you mostly just see other tall buildings and a small slice of the city skyline. It’s a lot more corporate-looking from the outside than it actually feels once you are inside. Inside, it’s just us with our laptops and some empty cold coffee cups scattered around the desks. We spend a lot of time just staring at screens and trying to ignore the humidity outside. The elevators in Shivsagar are usually pretty quick, which is a relief when you’re running a bit late in the morning. There’s a lot of history in this part of Mumbai, and you can feel it in the older architecture of the estate. We don’t have any fancy lounge areas or bean bags. It’s just a place where we sit down and do the work. The air conditioning is usually a bit too cold, so most of us keep a spare jacket.
