Rasik Book House

You can find Rasik Book House at Shop No. 6 in the Bala Prasad Building. We are right in Matunga West, pretty much directly opposite the Matunga Road Railway Station on T.H. Kataria Marg. Because we are so close to the station, there is always a lot of noise and people rushing past our door. It’s a very lively place to be. We have been here for years, and we have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit in that time. Our shop is packed with books from the floor all the way up to the ceiling. Sometimes it feels like there isn't enough room for all the titles we want to keep, but we make it work. People stop in while they are waiting for their train or when they are heading home after work. We see a lot of regular faces who have been buying their books from us since they were kids. It’s a nice feeling to be such a staple of the Matunga area. We carry all sorts of things, from school texts to novels and magazines. The shop can get a bit cramped when more than three or four people are inside at once, but everyone is usually patient. We don't have a computer system to tell us where everything is; we just know our shelves by heart. If you ask for something, we can usually point you right to it. It’s a busy, dusty, happy kind of place to work every day.
