India Book Distributors

You can find India Book Distributors up on the 10th floor of the Arcadia building. We are at 195 Ncpa Marg, right in the Nariman Point area. It’s a bit different from a street-level shop because you have to take the elevator up to units 1007 and 1008. The office is usually humming with the sound of phones ringing and the tap-tap of keyboards. We deal with a lot of boxes every day. Books come in and books go out, mostly in large quantities. There are stacks of cardboard everywhere you look. Sometimes the hallways get a bit blocked when a big shipment arrives, but we try to clear it quickly. It's a busy place with people always moving around. We don't really have a showroom for browsing, it’s more about the logistics of moving titles to where they need to be. The view from the window is nice, but we mostly just see the tops of other buildings nearby. We have a small kettle in the corner for making tea, which keeps us going through the long afternoons. It’s a professional environment but it’s still just us, a small team trying to stay on top of the orders. Sometimes the computers act up or the lift is slow, which slows everything down for a while. But we’ve been at Nariman Point for a long time and we know the rhythm of the place by now.
