Our place is located in the Rcf Township in Chembur, specifically in Flat 47 of Building 6. Since it is part of the township, there is a certain rhythm to life here that you don't really find in other parts of Mumbai. It feels a bit like a small village inside a giant city. The office is a Type B flat, so it has a living room that we have turned into our main workspace and a couple of smaller rooms for storage and meetings. It is a bit of an old-fashioned building, with those heavy wooden doors and windows that rattle a bit when the wind picks up. We have a regular routine where we come in early, check the mail, and start working through our piles of folders. There is no high-tech security or glass elevators here; you just walk up the stairs and knock on the door. We have a small stove in the corner for making tea, and the smell of cardamom often hangs in the air during the afternoon. The township is quite green, which is nice because we can see trees out of our windows instead of just more concrete. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a flashy office. We are just a group of people working in a residential area, trying to stay on top of our tasks and making sure the day-to-day operations run as smoothly as they can.
